In 2018 we’re hosting the 11th Bergen Swim Festival, and we’re inviting you to join us for this great competition in Alexander Dale Oen Arena (AdO arena). We look forward to three days of great swimming and a lot of fun. The swim meet is approved by the Norwegian Swimming Federation (NSF) and organized by their rules and regulations.

Disabled: Competing by Austrailian model. Participants ranked by world record in each class.
The best swimmers will swim in the first three heats of the preliminaries. Finals are organized by class, except the 800 and 1500 meter, that are organized as super finals (no prelims) with the 8 fastest registered swimmers.
In the case of fewer than 8 registered participants, everyone is automatically qualified for the finals.
The organizer can limit the number of heats if necessary
50 m arranged as knock out heats, except the 50m crawl which is set up with semi-finals and finals.
The eight fastest swimmers in each class qualify to the finals. Three heats in each class, the three slowest swimmers leave after heat one, The slowest two swimmers of the remaining five swimmers leave after the second heat. The final three swimmers swim in heat three. A minimum of 3. min. between each race.

Best overall performances according to FINA-2016 listings achieved during finals gets following prize money (only one prize per participant):

Swim Open Stockholm and Bergen Swim Festival have partnered in 2018. There will be extra prizes monies for swimmers participating in some events at both competitions. See the website for more info

BSF 2018 has been approved by FINA as a qualification meet for the European Championships in Glasgow (August) and for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires (October)

Tuesday March 27th at 24.00
Entry times are best times achieved between March 28th 2017 - March 27th 2018.
Stipulated time is allowed if the swimmer haven’t swum the event in this time period. In case of limited heat entries, stipulated times are seeded last.
